WEDDING FAB: International Naija Love Fest

Hello Folks!
This is another area I will be delving into from time to time, WEDDINGS!! We here at NYF love to highlight fabulous love tales of our young Naija lovers. For our first post, we decided to show you some of the glamorous weddings that took place in Yankee this summer between successful up and coming Nigerian-Americans...Read on to see a few moments captured in pics

AMY OHEN and JONATHON MAURITZ: American based medical doctor, Amy, is from Edo state but grew up in the United states. She and her groom Jonathon Mauritz dated for a couple of years before they finally tied the knot...the wedding ceremony was performed in Houston Texas (couple's home-base) in front of their family and friends. Here are a few pics...

Fab wedding indeed, I'm certain they will have beautiful brown blue eyed babies with curly hair LOL. NYF wishes them a glorious and joyful union. :)

UGO IHEKWEAZU and FAITH DORSEY: Ugo and Faith, are a match made in heaven, Obi, another doctor in the making married his longtime sweetheart Faith, this summer, in front of all their family and friends. It was a well attended event as their friends came from all over the world to see them joined in Holy matrimony. Faith was a breath-taking bride in her sleeveless crystal embroidered gown and her bridal train complemented the royal look as the bridesmaids were donned in red gowns and the grooms men brought their A-game in their sharp suit. Beautiful wedding!

Congrats are in order for the Couple. Happy Married Life Mr & Mrs Ihekweazu.

SHOCKER!!!!: "I AM A GAY NAIJA MAN, MARRIED WITH CHILDREN"!!!!

Hello Fabulous ones,
So I got this email from a friend, and the subject in the mysterious letter wished to remain somewhat anonymous, I must say I have read this message over and over again and I am lost for words. READ ON...

"Hi my name is Osahon (last name withdrawn), I am a business man based in LAGOS heading my own company (I.T) now for 13yrs, and I can confidently say that I am very comfortable. I am married to a beautiful woman and we have 2 children(girls,4 n 2yrs). I got married because my family thought I was old and needed a wife. I was OK being single! I married a lady who I had known for years but we never had a physical relationship until after marriage.

MY SECRET IS, I AM GAY AND I HAVE HAD A GAY RELATIONSHIP WITH MY PARTNER/BOYFRIEND FOR THE PAST 7YRS.  I am much older than him, I'm in my forties and he's in his late twenties. I met him when I hired him as a corper to work in my firm. We were attracted to each other immediately we met, at first I wasn't sure but a couple of months after working for me, I made the first move and asked him out for dinner at a hotel. He was a fresh graduate then, he schooled in the United States. I will withdraw his name for his privacy.

I feel so much PAIN and DISGRACE knowing how much of a lie I am living, I LOVE my wife but I am NOT ATTRACTED to her. She has no idea that I like men and she sees me as the perfect husband. I love my daughters more than anything in this world and I hope to tell them my secret one day because this lie is beginning to KILL ME SILENTLY!!!

Sometimes I lie to my wife that I am travelling out of Lagos for business, but THE TRUTH IS I go to my boyfriend's house in Lekki (I rented it out for him) and I stay there with him for weeks at a time. HE TOO GETS JEALOUS because he wants me all to himself.

I TRY to protect myself when I have SEX with my boyfriend BUT sometimes WE GET SO CAUGHT UP IN THE MOMENT THAT WE FORGET TO USE A CONDOM.

I am afraid to get tested because of the FEAR OF KNOWING, I dont know my MY BOYFRIEND'S STATUS. I am ADDICTED TO SEX WITH MEN, and sometimes when I travel out of the country I HIRE MALE PROSTITUTES TO PLEASURE ME.

The only reason I can't come clean about my life is because of I LIVE IN NIGERIA AND NAIJAs RE HOMOPHOBIC. I fear for my family. I LOVE MY FAMILY, I LOVE MY BOYFRIEND AND I LIKE MEN. WHAT DO I DO?!?!"- Osahon.

WoW!!!! I guess what they say is tru, there's a whole gay community in Lagos that we are very unaware of. DAMN!!!

TRENDS: Season's Hottest Looks!!!

Hello Fabs!

This is my first entry on the style and fashion column... I have been observing a few trends from my NYF fashionistas and I must say I have been really impressed with what they've been coming up with. I selected a few pieces and given you all a few choices in customizing these outfits and making them your own...go ahead and take a bite of these Yummy wardrobe choices....

THE CHIC n SOPHISTICATED LOOK!!

Genevieve rocked this Black dress to the Movie Premiere of 'Bursting Out and 'Holding Hope', she keeps it  simple in the Iconic LBD (Little Black Dress). She let her accessories do all the talking with the layered chunky necklace and large bracelets.
The Chanel Lime green clutch adds a touch of color to the outfit. Noice!

Stephanie here shows you can be sexy and still look very sophisticated as well. The One Shouldered Look has been a hit this season and Stephanie flaunts her toned arms. She shows her fashion smarts by putting the accessories to the minimum. Snaps*

THE FUN n FLIRTY LOOK

This has got to be my favorite looks of all time. Why? because it can go from day to night easily, with just a change of accessories! Ebube rocks this flower printed skirt nicely and tones down the color with a basic black blouse. I like that she kept the jewelries very simple as the skirt is busy enough on its own. Glam!

ZiZi proves again why she is a professional at style and fashion! she turns this simple basic pink satin dress into a head turner. The length is risqué and it works well. She barely has on any jewelry and keeps it simple with a black purse. She looks comfortable, flirty and ready to have some fun. Nicely Done!

                                                                                                                                             Steal the looks!
